Always read and follow the instructions on the care label: Now I know that as Nigerians, it’s common to not read the label instructions on our clothes. But if you want to see your life for a few more months, you should cultivate the habit of reading the label. It usually contains instructions on how the piece of clothing should be washed because some clothing materials are different and they demand a different kind of care.
Avoid harsh detergents: Local shops and stores are filled with harsh detergents that contribute the speed at which your clothes fade so avoid them. Instead when shopping for detergents, look out for milder ones and don’t use too much of them. If you handwash a lot, you might want to avoid making sure your wash water is foamy. Too much detergent kills your cloth.
Turn cloths inside out: This is the best trick to lengthen the life of your T-shirts. Before throwing them in the washing machine or dryer, turn your T-shirts inside out. Doing this prevents the outer fiber of your clothes from wearing out way too early.
Separate light from dark colors: If you don’t sort sort your clothes, now might be best time to start before the rest of your clothes fade off completely. Sorting clothes helps prevent you clothes from fading a little on every wash. Always wash dark colored clothing’s together and light colored clothing’s together
